How can I block a non-guaranteed transaction?
A non-guaranteed transaction is a transaction for which the cardholder cannot shift the liability for an outstanding payment to the merchant on the grounds of “Cardholder dispute” directed at the merchant.
The enrollment of the contract for 3D Secure allows to protect the merchant against CE “cardholder dispute” chargeback motive.
However, some types of transactions do not benefit from this guarantee (see the decision tree to identify them better).
- Sign in to the Back Office: https://scelliuspaiement.labanquepostale.fr/vads-merchant/.
- Select Settings > Advanced risk assessment menu.
If you do not see the Advanced risk assessment menu, your user account is not authorized to make this configuration or you do not have access to this module. Get in touch with someone who has an authorized user account or contact the E-Banking Merchant Support Service.
- Select your shop and go to the tab 3D Secure result.
- In the Liability shift section, click the Enable button.
A green vertical bar indicates that the profile is activated.
- Enter the minimum amount that will trigger the rule for the transaction. Select the currency, if necessary.
- Select Refuse from the list of actions.
All the transactions concerned by this configuration will be refused.
You have the possibility to Raise an alert. The alert allows you, for example, to put the delivery process on hold until verification processes can be done for the transaction.
It is also possible to choose Validate manually. This action allows you to temporarily block the payment capture while you check the transaction and decide if you want to validate or cancel it.
If you add several actions, know that the Refuse action has priority over the Validate manually action. The latter can be combined with the Raise an alert action
