Low Risk Merchant (LRM)
Some banks indicate that the merchant must be able to make a frictionless authentication request without specifying a particular exemption motive.
To respond to this need, CB offers the LRM (=Low Risk Merchant) program.
The LRM program is an exemption that allows merchants with CB contracts to be frictionless. Its aim is to meet the needs of very low-risk, high-volume merchants. It makes it possible to leverage the investments made in the fight against fraud, by optimizing the frictionless rate where regulations allow.
Until now, the LRM program has covered up to €100 for a systematic exemption of eligible beneficiaries. GIE CB has launched a trial of the €100 to €250 bracket.
In the terms and conditions for implementing the €100 to €250 experimental bracket, CB informs that to benefit from frictionless with application of the LRM program, the merchant must:
- have a CB contract;
- be eligible for the Acquirer TRA;
- and transmit the required values in the 3D Secure flow, according to the rules defined by the gateway.
The LRM program has no end date for payments between €0-100.
The benefit of the €100-250 bracket program is being tested until 30 September 2024, according to CB.
To benefit from CB’s LRM program, you must contact the E-Banking Merchant Support Service to obtain an explicit agreement.
